1. Who we are
Big Weekend is operated by Christina Zeidan, doing business as Big Weekend, in Montreal, Quebec. We are committed to protecting personal information in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and other applicable privacy laws.
Person in charge of the protection of personal information: Christina Zeidan, christina@bigweekendmtl.com.
2. What we collect
- Contact information: name, email address, phone number, city of residence.
- Planning information: group size, event dates, budget range, preferences, and details you provide in inquiry and intake forms.
- Attendee information provided for a booked weekend: names and, where needed for the services, dietary restrictions, allergies, accessibility needs, and emergency contacts. We treat health-related details (such as allergies) as sensitive and collect them only where necessary.
- Payment information: processed by our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Website data: we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that uses no cookies and collects no personal identifiers — only aggregate statistics such as pages visited.
3. Why we collect it
- To respond to inquiries and prepare proposals;
- To plan, coordinate, and deliver the services you engage us for;
- To process payments and maintain business records;
- To communicate with you about your weekend;
- With your consent, to send occasional marketing communications (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- To improve our website and services.
4. Consent
We collect personal information directly from you with your consent, which you give by submitting a form, engaging our services, or otherwise providing information to us for the purposes described. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions; withdrawing consent for information we need to deliver booked services may limit our ability to provide them.
5. Who we share it with
- Vendors and venues, strictly as needed to deliver your weekend (for example, names for a reservation, group size, and dietary restrictions for a caterer). We never share more than the vendor needs.
- Service providers that support our business, such as payment processing, website hosting and form handling (Netlify), and email (Google). Some of these providers store information outside Quebec, including in the United States; where personal information is communicated outside Quebec, we take the steps required by law, including assessing that it will receive adequate protection.
- Authorities, where required by law.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal and tax record-keeping obligations, after which it is securely destroyed or anonymized. Inquiry information for groups that do not book is deleted within 12 months.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls, reputable service providers, and secure transmission. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if a confidentiality incident involving your personal information presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information as required by law.
8. Your rights
You may request access to your personal information, ask that it be corrected, withdraw consent, or ask questions or make a complaint about our practices by contacting the person in charge at christina@bigweekendmtl.com. We will respond within the time limits set by law (generally 30 days). You may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
9. Cookies and analytics
Our site does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Analytics are provided by Plausible, which works without cookies and without collecting personal identifiers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above indicates the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
